Sage belongs to the mint family and originates from the Mediterranean region. During its flowering period from June to October, sage produces delicate, pale to violet-blue blossoms that are particularly popular with bees and bumblebees. As early as the early Middle Ages, sage was brought to Central Europe via monastery gardens and has since become an integral part of European herbal culture. With their fresh, slightly spicy flavour, the dried leaves of the plant unfold, as a sage tea, a well-balanced and pleasant taste experience.
