Most people have come across stinging nettle at some point, though not always in a pleasant way. Once the leaves are dried, however, they lose their stinging properties. As an herbal tea, they impress with their refreshing, slightly bitter taste and a finely balanced, natural flavour profile.
Nettle leaves
Pour 250ml of boiling water over 1 tablespoon of nettle leaves, cover and leave to infuse for 10 minutes. Then strain the tea and drink 1 to 2 cups 3 to 4 times a day in sips at lukewarm temperature.
Special notes: Nettle leaves should not be drunk in cases of water retention (oedema) due to impaired heart and kidney activity.
Storage: Store in a dry place and not above room temperature. Close the aroma-protective packaging tightly after opening.
